Why This One?
Let’s be honest, the micro-compact market is crowded. Every manufacturer has a 9mm that fits in your pocket. So why does the SIG P365 FUSE Comp stand out? In our hands-on evaluation, it’s the execution. SIG took the already-proven P365 platform—the one that changed the game a few years back—and gave it a thoughtful, performance-oriented upgrade without turning it into a complicated or overly expensive custom project. Our customers who’ve bought it since we added it to our catalog in early 2024 consistently report it’s a “good value for the price point,” and I have to agree. It feels like SIG looked at the aftermarket and said, “We can do that from the factory, and do it right.”
The star of the show is, of course, the integrated compensator. It’s not an add-on or a threaded barrel attachment; it’s machined directly into the slide. This means no extra length, no fussing with set screws, and a clean, snag-free profile. In our testing, the reduction in muzzle flip is noticeable, especially with hotter defensive loads. It makes getting back on target faster, which in a defensive scenario, is the whole point. Combine that with the excellent XSeries trigger—which has a clean, crisp break—and you’ve got a package that shoots flatter and more controllably than its size would suggest.
Another point our team noted: the break-in period is practically non-existent. While we always recommend putting a few hundred rounds through any new firearm, the FUSE Comp we tested ran flawlessly right out of the gate with a variety of ammunition. That reliability isn’t a surprise given the P365 lineage, but it’s good to confirm. Now, I’ll give you our one staff gripe, and it’s a minor one: the packaging could be better. The product itself is perfect, but the box is a bit flimsy. It’s a classic case of SIG putting all the budget into the gun, not the cardboard. I can live with that.

How It Stacks Up
Let’s put the FUSE Comp in context. Here’s how it compares to two other popular compensated micro-compacts.
| Feature | SIG P365 FUSE Comp | Springfield Hellcat Pro Comp | Shield Plus Performance Center |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price Point | $$$ | $$ | $$$ |
| Integrated Comp? | ✅ Yes (machined slide) | ✅ Yes (ported barrel) | ✅ Yes (ported slide/barrel) |
| Mag Capacity | 12+1 / 15+1 (opt.) | 15+1 | 13+1 |

| Our Take | Best balance of size, shootability, and proven platform reliability. | Great capacity, more of a “micro-comp” feel. Porting can be dirtier. | Excellent trigger out of the box, but slightly larger footprint. |
Honest Assessment
After running this gun on our range and listening to feedback from nearly 30 buyers, here’s the straight talk.
✅ Pros:
- Shootability: The comp works. Muzzle rise is reduced, making follow-up shots faster and more accurate. It’s the single biggest upgrade over the standard P365.
- Out-of-Box Ready: Excellent XRAY3 night sights and a great XSeries trigger come standard. No immediate need for upgrades.
- Proven Reliability: Built on the rugged P365 FCU. In our testing and according to customer reports, it eats everything without complaint.
- Fast Break-In: As noted, our customers praise the fast break-in period. It’s a gun you can trust from day one.
- Carry-Friendly Size: The comp adds no length, so it retains all the concealability of the original P365.
❌ Cons:
- Price Premium: You’re paying for the comp, night sights, and upgraded trigger. It’s more than a base P365.
- Flimsy Box: It’s a minor point, but for a gun at this price, the packaging feels cheap. The gun is solid, the box is not.
- May Not Fit All Holsters: The compensated slide has a different profile. Some standard P365 holsters may not accommodate it. Check compatibility.
Who Should / Shouldn’t Buy
Buy the SIG P365 FUSE Comp if: You want the shootability benefits of a compensator without the hassle of aftermarket parts, threading, or added length. You’re a fan of the P365 platform but want less muzzle flip. You value having high-quality night sights and a good trigger straight from the factory. You prioritize reliability in a micro-compact for everyday carry.
Skip the SIG P365 FUSE Comp if: Your budget is strictly for a bare-bones defensive tool (look at the standard P365). You strongly prefer a manual safety (the FUSE Comp model does not have one). You already own a P365 and don’t want to invest in a new firearm and potentially new holsters. You live in a state with restrictions on compensated or threaded barrels (check your local laws).
Q & A
Is the compensator effective?
Yes. The machined-in compensator redirects gas upward to counteract muzzle rise. In side-by-side testing with a standard P365, the difference in felt recoil and sight recovery speed is noticeable, especially with defensive +P ammunition. It makes a snappy gun much more manageable.
Does it come with a manual safety?
No, the P365 FUSE Comp model, as currently configured from SIG Sauer, does not include a manual safety. It utilizes SIG’s striker and trigger safety systems.
Will it fit in my P365 holster?
Maybe, but not guaranteed. The slide has a different profile due to the compensator cuts. While some open-bottom holsters might work, most molded Kydex holsters for the standard P365 will not accommodate the FUSE Comp slide. You will likely need a holster specifically designed for the FUSE Comp or P365-COMP models.
Is it reliable with different ammo types?
Based on our range testing and consistent feedback from our 29 buyers (who gave it a 4.8/5 rating), yes. The platform is known for reliability, and the FUSE Comp has shown no issues with a range of 115gr and 124gr FMJ training ammo, as well as various hollow points. It had a very fast break-in period in our experience.
What magazines does it use?
It comes with two 12-round magazines and is compatible with all standard SIG P365/P365XL magazines. This includes 10-round, 12-round, 15-round, and 17-round magazines, giving you great flexibility for carry or range use.
Where can I buy SIG online?
You can purchase the SIG Sauer P365 FUSE Comp right here at Polymer80Parts. We’re an authorized retailer, and every gun ships from our facility in Grand Junction, CO. We handle the paperwork and transfer process to make it straightforward.
How does the XSeries trigger compare?
It’s a significant upgrade over the standard curved trigger. The XSeries is a flat-faced trigger with a more defined wall and a cleaner, crisper break. Reset is short and positive. It contributes greatly to the overall shootability of the package.
